I have been ordering these Honeybell sugar babies for years now, and one relative who lives by herself in an apartment so appreciates the fresh fruit delivered to her door, and lasting for a long time in her refrigerator. The difference in the 2 shipments I received was eye opening! In the original shipment, the "honeybells" were round, small, fairly thin skinned, lots of green veining, no "bell" shape and had in shipping, unfortunately, though fortunately for me, been delayed and frozen, so over half were inedible and of the remainder, only 1 tasted decent and was consumed, while the others, when sampled, were bitter and not at all juicy and thrown away.
Customer Service was wonderful and the ladies were very understanding regarding my disappointment and placed an order for a new shipment.
The replacement shipment was like night and day! The honeybells in this shipment were beautiful! Thick, dark orange skins, the classic honeybell shape, they are sweet and juicy...everything I have come to expect from a Florida honeybell!
Now my question is, WHY such a huge difference in the product between the two shipments? Having discovered honeybells in Florida many years ago, and having placed orders for northern shipment with several companies for years we weren't in Florida during honeybell season, I fully understand a honeybell can be round, without the "bell" shape, and that a bit of green veining in the skin is fine, but why not put a mixture in each shipment? If there were a few of the rounder, greener fruits in my shipment, it would be fine. For a new honeybell consumer, it would be educational as they would see first hand that one is much like the other.
But like I said, when I opened my original shipment, I was quite disappointed that there were NO traditional looking bells. For me, it was just fortunate that we had a blizzard event that delayed and froze that shipment, or I would have been left with a bad taste in my mouth for Gregory Groves. Your customer service department has saved your reputation, in my eyes, so that I will order from you again in the future.
One last thought...our blizzard was well publicized, here at home and on the national news. Before shipping to the northeast or northwest, does Gregory Groves check the weather forecast for shipments going to those areas? I believe customers would both understand a small delay for weather and appreciate getting an unfrozen shipment and avoiding the hassle of having to reorder a new shipment....just a thought.

My fist shipment arrived frozen(shipped during the sub zero cold spell). I contacted customer service. The agent was extremely helpful. I checked the 7 day forecast and told the agent that the weather here in Indy would be above freezing all week. The agent replaced my frozen Honeybells. The replacement was shipped out much quicker than expect. They arrived 2 days ago and they are perfect. The citrus is beautiful, mega juicy, and wonderful taste. I have been gifted Honeybells before from other companies and nothing can top the citrus from Gregory's Grove. I gave a 5 star rating because the problem with frozen fruit was not the fault of Gregory's. My go to place for Honeybells.

My Mother-in-law, who is in her early 90's living in her own apartment, has been gifted the sugar babies from Gregory's Groves for some years now. They are always welcomed, arriving in good shape outside her door in the cold winter months when she cannot get out to do grocery shopping, but more than the fruit itself these sweet babies are a burst of sunshine and deliciousness that make her feel happy. This year's box arrived just last week and she was thrilled to get them....eating an orange a day...calling to say these are the juiciest oranges she has ever had. She gets a half cup of juice out of one sugar baby.

I ordered at the very last minute before spring and got in on the last day for honeybells. I was expecting them to be the last of the crop and perhaps not the best. They arrived beautiful, much more authentically pleasing to the eye than my Hale Groves Honeybells were and I received those in season. They were great. A bit tarter than what I was expecting bur still delicious. Appreciated the fair prices as well. Will order from here again and I won't order from Hale anymore.

I have bought Honey-bell for my grand-daughters when they were little, they loved the bibs that accompanied the oranges and the flavor and juice they got out of only one. As they got older, they did not want them anymore. I asked them why they said "they have a lot of flavor and juice, but not sweet." Tasting the latest batch, they are very flavorful but not sweet and have an abundance of juice in each one. I like them a lot and so does my older daughter.

I used to live in Florida and in honeybell season I would go to a local grove and get fresh picked honeybells. What a treat. Now that I live in the North the next best thing is having honeybells shipped from Gregory Groves. They're sweet and juicy, the only thing missing is that little plastic device that you put in the side of the honeybells to suck out the juice.
